I have lived in Cebu, Philippines, for over 10 years now.
The weather is good, and so are the Filipino people, most of whom can speak good English (American).
The scenery is fantastic, and a good way to explore it, is on foot, or by Mountain Bike, or Dual Sport Motorcycle.

The 'locals' manage to go most places on Honda XRM 125, with road tires, and 3 or 4 up!

This Wiki is for those who like riding Motorcycles off the main roads/highways, and exploring the side roads, and dirt tracks and even footpaths - 'GREEN LANES TRAILS', here in Cebu, Philippines.
Whilst a Dual Sport Motorcycle is best for exploring such 'Green Trails' to cope with the terrain, mud, gravel, dirt, rocks, boulders, deep ruts and bumps, potholes and generally very rough surfaces.
Any motorcycle with the power/gears to climb steep hills, and tires to provide the grip, with reasonable ground clearance, decent suspension and brakes, should cope just fine.

So if you have such a Motorcycle and confident and adapt at handling it off road, then consider joining in our next Green Trail Ride, that will be featured on this Wiki.

If you don't have a decent motorcycle for 'Off Roading', consider getting one, I did!

 My 1st Motorcycle in the Philippines was a 'Cruiser' - a Chinese Loncin T200 'Terminator'

I did not get on with it, despite Sha-Sha liking it as very low, and 'comfy' with deep padded seat, back rest and footboards. The steering was too 'heavy' because of the trail rake. It was not 'nimble/agile and was heavy so did not accelerate well, for a 200cc motorcycle.

I sold this 'Cruiser', because I did not feel at 'ease' riding it and more importantly, could not go 'Off-Road' to truly explore what the Philippines has to offer!
My 'asawa' bought me thisXT225 Serrow(Mountain Goat / Woods Riding) machine for Php160K ((US$3,265 back then)

This Yamaha XT225 'Serow' is a very competent Dual Sport to explore much more of what the Philippines had to offer. Its low seat height of under 32", and a 6 Speed Gearbox, was why I selected the XT224 rather than a Honda XR200 (as it not the same as the XR200R 'Enduro' I owned in Bahrain back in 1983-85)

Clearly you can see such motorbike is better suited than that Lonsin 'Cruiser'.

4 months later, I had a heart attack (luckily a mild one and a 'wake up' call to lose weight and get more Cardio Fit).My asawa did not want me riding my motorcycle, up in the hills alone and in 3 years had only done about 500Km!
In the 1st 5 months of this year I had added triple that distance.

I had Joined PEACE RIDERS MC (Motor Cycle Club), based @ LAGTANG GRILL (previously 'Rogers Place'), Tabunok. Peace Riders is affiliated to the 'Visayas Confederation of Big Bike Clubs' (VCBBC).
I have been on Peace Rider / VCBBCTrips to Bacolod, as well as Dumaguete, and the 'Street Vibrations' Ride - that was part of Sinulog 2011, in Cebu. Missed their Trip to Bohol back in March, as already been to Bohol for the Phil Hash 2011 earlier that month.

There is trip to Layte on 23-26th June.

Mark Burnham (co-owner of Lagtang Grill) took me and 2 other 'Peace Rider' Members. on a 'Dirt Bike Ride' up the Mananga River in June 2010, and I was 'hooked' on exploring more 'Green Trails' in Cebu.

So there is the background, on how this GREEN TRAIL RIDES - CEBU got formed.

Last week I was unable to enter this web-page. Was just met by a message that I was blocked, due to "abusing behavoir"...! I sent a mail asking WHY, what was this all about - and got an answer from someone calling himself "Tony Flint", and using the mail-adresse tflint@wetpaint.com He then sent a list of web-adresses that should have shown "abusive behavoir" - but the IP-adresse used was not MINE!
I think this is just a try to hack this site, or may be to place a "worm" og a "trojan horse" in peoples computers or accounts, so BEWARE!!!
But anyone else had this same experience...+

GTR 17 was very exciting as I saw it in video a lot of adventure and exercise for the group.... More power guys... Hope to join you next time.
